La maison Fog & Morup développe des activités commerciales dès le début du XXème siècle. Dans les années 30, le répertoire de luminaires devait se devait être pensé d’une nouvelle manière. L'une des premières étapes a été la création de la lampe Kongelys devenue un classique aujourd’hui. Conçue à l'origine par Niels Rasmussen Thykier, mais réalisé par Fog et Mørup dans les années 40 seulement. Le premier exemplaire a été offert en cadeau au roi Christian X à l'occasion de son 25e anniversaire de sa nomination en tant que régent.

L’abat-jour de la lampe Kongelys fut Inspiré par les lumières royales qui avaient un écran en carton. Les éditions ont varié et des écrans plus robustes en tissu, en acrylique ou en métal ont été réalisés. Les premières lampes étaient en laiton bruni, puis en laiton poli, et brièvement en acier chromé. Les interrupteurs des modèles anciens sont situés sur le fût juste au-dessus de la base. En 1999 et 2004, la production a repris dans un tirage de 500 exemplaires chacune des années, mais en 1988 Fog et Mørup avaient été repris par Lyfa, qui a été repris par Lyskjær l'année suivante. Horn Lighting a acheté Lyskjær en 1991, qui en 2005 a changé son nom en Lightyears. Les droits de Kongelys ont suivi tout au long de tous les changements de propriétaire.

Fog & Morup developed commercial activities from the beginning of the 20th century. In the 1930s, the repertoire of lighting fixtures had to be thought out in a new way. One of the first steps was the creation of the Kongelys lamp, which has become a classic today. Originally designed by Niels Rasmussen Thykier, it was only produced by Fog and Mørup in the 40s. The first copy was given as a gift to King Christian X on the occasion of his 25th anniversary as regent, and the lampshade of the Kongelys lamp was inspired by the royal lights that had a cardboard screen.

Editions have varied and more robust screens in fabric, acrylic or metal have been made. The first lamps were in burnished brass, then in polished brass, and briefly in chromed steel.  The interruptors of the oldest models are positioned just above the base. In 1999 and 2004 production resumed in a run of 500 copies each year, but in 1988 Fog and Mørup were taken over by Lyfa, which was taken over by Lyskjær the following year. Horn Lighting bought Lyskjær in 1991, which in 2005 changed its name to Lightyears. Kongelys' rights followed throughout all changes of ownership.
